THE TAVERN RESTAURANT was opened in July 1994.
Started by Mr Poh Say Eng, a well-known restaurant Maitre-d, The Tavern offers Swiss & Continental Cuisine in an intimate and relaxed Swiss Chalet-inspired corner shop-house at River Valley Road near the Mohamed Sultan Road junction.
The cozy restaurant seats 100 persons and has two other private rooms on the second level that are usually used for private functions.
The bigger private room seats 35 persons while the smaller one seats 10 persons.
The restaurant even has an adjoining wine and tapas bar that seats 50 persons.
Known for its great service and excellent traditional European food, The Tavern is a popular haunt with the rich and famous of Singapore.
Mr Poh places a lot of emphasis on excellent hospitality and would go the extra mile for his customers if he has to.
This commitment had earned him a host of regular customers.
Some of the restaurant signature dishes are include Raclette Cheese served with air-dried beef, Pan-fried Fresh Goose Liver, Australian Grain-fed Rib-Eye Steak, Slice Veal Zurich Style served with Roesti potato.
The ever-popular classical dessert Crepe Suzette is prepared by the table side and flamed with brandy right before the customers.
The Tavern restaurant is open daily and The Tavern Wine & Tapas Bar is closed on Sunday and Public Holidays.
The lunch hour is from 11.30am to 2.30pm and the dinner from 6.00pm to 10.30pm.

Should you make use of the entire space then you have larger scale events as it can accommodate up to 170 people which is just nice for product launches, end of year dinners as well as weddings and solemnisations in a Swiss environment.
